Upon Further Inspection: Those Birds Are Photoshopped, Right?

Looking at these two photos, taken from two different weddings, in two different cities, one may ask: "They totally Photoshopped those birds into the frame, right?"

The answer to this inquiry would be an honest to goodness "no." Neither Erin (pictured at left, standing on a beach in Michigan City, IN) nor Niki and Nick (on the right, standing with their wedding party on Belle Isle in Detroit, MI) requested we get a shot of them with birds in the frame, but sometimes you get lucky. Even though they wouldn't sit still and pose for us, the uninvited gulls add a layer of detail and dimension to these portraits.  We're just happy we clicked the shutter at the right moment.

Upon Further Inspection: Chaz & Ryan

This moment was captured last summer at Chaz and Ryan's wedding. The limo just arrived in front of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra building and Chaz rolled down her window before making her debut. In the window's reflection you can see her proud father smiling at her. I think they were excited about the day and a little relieved that it stopped raining too!

Preparations

Long before the " I do," and before the cake gets cut, and before the first dance, and before one of the bride and groom's Uncles gets over-served, there's usually a little while at the beginning of the wedding day when we get to spend time with the bride as she gets ready. These intimate moments are some of the most exciting to capture, and could easily be forgotten about if not for the photographic evidence.
